XPP's Vayapay Partners with FARA to Deploy Contactless Payments Across Four Norwegian Transit Authorities

Haarlem, Netherlands – 16 September – XPP announces the successful integration of four new transit authorities into the Vayapay Smart Payment Platform, its urban mobility payment solution delivering frictionless payments for public transport. In partnership with FARA, a leading provider of multi-modal Account-Based-Ticketing, Real Time Integration platforms and predictive fleet operations in the Nordics, XPP’s Vayapay has enabled contactless payments for Innlandet, Telemark, Vestfold and Troms transit authorities, implementing Pay-as-you-Go travel solutions that eliminate travel friction. 

Building on its success as the provider of Pay-as-you-Go solutions to Flytoget, Oslo's innovative airport train service, Vayapay has established itself as Norway's most significant Payment Service Provider for urban mobility. The strategic partnership between Vayapay and FARA combines their complementary technologies into a standardised solution for open-payment ticketing, enabling rapid deployment across any operator utilising FARA's automatic fare collection system. 

This integrated approach accelerates the adoption of passenger-friendly contactless payments and 'tap and go' experiences across buses and ferries throughout Scandinavia, transforming transport operations with seamless fare collection technology. 

The Vayapay-FARA Pay-as-you-Go solution eliminates the complexity and cost traditionally associated with migrating from conventional fare collection systems to passenger-centric contactless payment infrastructure. Public transit authorities and operators can now transition to open-loop payment systems without substantial capital investments or the need to replace existing ticketing solutions or suppliers. The off-the-shelf solution ensures fast and efficient implementation, reducing operational disruption while enhancing the commuting experience.
